DONATE AUCTION ITEM | Can I donate an auction item for the Gala?

Yes, we welcome and appreciate donations of auction items for our gala. Your generosity helps us make our fundraising efforts a success, and we thank you for your support!

 

ATTIRE

Dressing for the theme is optional. Guests are encouraged to dress in elegant attire with masks to fit the masquerade theme.

 

MASKS | Are masks required for the gala?

No. While masks are not mandatory, they are highly encouraged to embrace the enchanting masquerade atmosphere. Masks will also be available at the event.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT | PROGRAM

Guests can anticipate an enchanting evening filled with live entertainment, gourmet dining, silent and live auctions, and dancing.

 

PARKING | Is there parking available at the venue?

Yes, complimentary parking will be provided for gala attendees. Additional details regarding parking arrangements will be communicated closer to the event date.

 

TAX DEDUCTIBLE | Is my donation & contribution tax deductible?

Absolutely. WhidbeyHealth Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax-deductible within U.S. law. Here's a breakdown of tax deductibility for various contributions:

  1. Donations/Raise Paddle: Contributions made through donations or raise paddle activities are 100% tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  2. Ticket and Auction Items: Contributions made through the purchase of gala tickets and winning auction items are deductible on the portion exceeding their fair market value.

 

IRS REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION (RMD) | What is the IRS RMD?

If you are 70 ½ or older, the IRS requires RMD from your retirement accounts. You can direct this distribution to our campaign, fulfilling your RMD obligation while supporting vital healthcare initiatives in our community.
 

Donations made directly from a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to WhidbeyHealth Foundation  are 100% tax deductible. This provision was introduced as part of the CARES Act in 2020, allowing individuals who are 70½ years or older to make tax-free charitable donations of up to $100,000 directly from their IRAs.

 

USE OF FUNDS RAISED | How will my contribution and donation be used?

Your donations and contributions will directly support the expansion of Rehabilitation Care on Whidbey Island. Specifically, your contributions will help in the following ways:

  1. Supporting the reopening of the Rehabilitation Care clinic in Oak Harbor this year.

  2. Upgrading and renovating the existing rehabilitation clinic at the main hospital in Coupeville.

 

What do you mean by “Rehabilitation Care?"

Rehabilitation Care encompasses a range of essential services aimed at improving the overall well-being and functionality of individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. These services are designed to address various physical, cognitive, and emotional needs, helping individuals regain independence, mobility, and quality of life. The focus of our fundraising efforts includes expanding and enhancing these services:  cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, pediatric rehab, physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy, as well as specialty services such as pelvic floor dysfunction, acupuncture, hand therapy, and aquatic therapy.

 

Your support plays a crucial role in improving access to vital rehabilitation services and enhancing the overall well-being of individuals in need within the Whidbey community. We deeply appreciate your generosity and commitment to our cause.
